Peacock post earrings in bronze and sterling with patina

Regular price $70.00 Sale

As a child, I wandered through the woods behind my house, hunting for peacock feathers. There were wild peacock in the woods that would roost in the trees and shed feathers all over the place. There were times when I could come home with 50 or 60 feathers in one trip! Needless to say, I have a fond memory of peacocks and have been wanting to make these for a very long time. I love how they came out!

Hand crafted from a solid sheet of metal, I hammered, textured the tail with the feather details. I gave these birds a three dimensional form and then added layers and layers of patina to give them the vivid blues and greens that peacocks are known for. Multiple layers of clear coat help to protect the patina. Edges are brushed out to bring some of the soft bronze color out on their beaks , chest and plumage.

*Patina varies from piece to piece making them each a unique artistic quality. Care is taken to match earring as closely as possible in color and depth.
